5.Conway The Machine
Conway really had one of the best years of his career . From His short and sweet release’s Lulu and no one Mourns the wicked to one of the best albums of the year from a King to A god. Where we see some of his best lyricism and so many moving verses.

4.Blu
West coast MC Blu returned in 2020 with his best work in over a decade alongside producer exile. Miles is a introspective and emotional record where Blu dissects so many aspects of his life with such detailed storytelling and passion. Proving To be a one of a kind lyricist

3.Ransom
Ransom and his 2020 run has been one of the most prolific in recent history as he proved himself again and again with his hard hitting lyricism and tales of street life. Alongside Nicholas Craven he released 2 Ep’s and 3 projects which were fantastic dominating 2020.

2.Che noir
One of the best Breakout stories of this year Che noir is in a league of her own lyrically continuing to shine as one of the best. From Juno an all killer no filler project alongside 38 spesh,to the introspective masterpiece As god intended And her snappy after 12 EP.

1.Boldy James
Detroit’s Boldy James has owned this year really showcasing so much growth as a lyricist. With his emotional and poetic reflections of a life of drugs and crime. With His drawn back delivery Fantastic beat selection and introspective style of Coke rap.

Boldy Went 4/4 this year
Firstly releasing the Lyrically dense and Price of Tea in China alongside Alchemist. Boldy’s Soft delivery meets alchemist’s clean and crisp production style very well as Boldy Really begins to come into his own delivering such introspective lyricism.

Then going on to release the Short and snappy Versace tapes with his clean wordplay and some brilliant sampling. The skits add a cool theme to the album and it is a really Engaging listen.

In July his long awaited Manger on Mchnicols had finally arrived and it was a masterpiece worth the wait. With sterling toles putting so much detail into every little sample beat and Instrumental.

Boldy Delivers the best lyrical performance of this year with such emotional storytelling and hard hitting bars. From the downfall of a life of crime portrayed on Medusa to the heartbreaking storytelling on Mommy dearest. A masterpiece front to back

Real Bad Boldy was a victory Lap as Boldy Cemented his 2020 run as one of the best in years.He really makes every little moment count With real Bad mans production complimenting him perfectly. Not much not to love about this.
The perfect way to End such a fantastic year for him.
