(Thread) 20 things to remember when someone calls undocumented immigrants "Illegals."

1. Trump is an illegal. $25 million for education fraud alone. $2 mil for charity fraud.

And I don't really need to say this, but more to come.

2. The majority of undocumented immigrants are people who overstay their visas, not illegal border crossings.

3. Undocumented immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than US-born citizens.

4. They pay state, local & sales taxes

5. President Reagan supported Amnesty (his word) and argued that open borders allows ppl to return home when they're done working here.

6. "Illegals" is a racist, dehumanizing, other-izing term.

7. If politicians really wanted undocumented immigration to end, they'd start locking up the Americans who hire them.

There's a giant "Help Wanted" sign at our border - bigger than any wall - and politicians of both parties aren't trying to take it down.

8. Politicians will never try to punish American companies who give jobs to undocumented workers - bc 'fear of illegals' generates GOP voter turnout and campaign donations. Year after year after year.

9. From slavery to Chinese railroad workers to the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory to today's overseas sweatshops, exploited labor - usually by marginalized peoples - has always propped up the US economy.

And undocumented ppl are easiest to underpay & exploit.

10. Trump hires undocumented people. Going back to the 80s. You're being suckered by rich hypocrites.

11. No politician has called for any legislation or policies that could ever lead to "Open Borders."

Any politician who uses that term is lying.

12. They were never going to build a wall across thousands of miles of desert, rivers and forests, private & commercial property; forcing border Americans to give up their land under eminent domain law.

Nor was Mexico gonna pay. Nor would it be completed. It was always a scam.

13. The wall would not have stopped undocumented immigration. Ladders and shovels are things that exist.

14. People who support 2017's family separation policy, aka stealing migrant children as a deterrent are legally still allowed to call themselves Christian. They're not.

15. America still has crumbling roads, bridges, public schools, infrastructure and an underfunded VA; they looted our military for a scam.

16. The majority of voters in 2016 rejected Trump's immigration agenda.

17. The majority of voters in 2020 rejected this agenda again.

18. Trump didn't pay fed taxes & committed tax fraud to avoid paying the taxes you paid - that he sought to misuse.

19. Fear of "illegals" is designed to get alarmed FOX news viewers to vote for an agenda again centered on tax cuts for rich ppl, who didn't need more tax cuts.

20. Migrants at our border fleeing Central American violence are not "illegals."

They are Christian Refugees.
And Trump fans didn't much care for Jesus' actual thoughts on how to treat marginalized strangers among us.
