The circumstances in which I grew up, make working in the fields, the only legal/non criminal option to make a few bucks and its been like that for more than a century now.

Its not a matter of willingness, or courage but a series racist legislation that turns a blind eye to the health hazards that many people face while working. We are concerned about the health and welfare of the farmworker community, their families and our entire food supply.
An abundance of negligence based on an absence of status quo, which was the case with my good friend Jorge Rodriguez, who received an unfair cancer treatment, just for being an uninsured fieldworker.

He loved to work in the fields, he loved the smell of the wet land and the fresh vegetation, he loved hanging out with his cuadrilla, we couldn't believe how much he always talked about enjoying working in the fields in a very uplifting manner.

He passed away from leukemia, illness that was propagated by the pesticides he inhaled on a daily basis in the fields he loved so much leaving two lovely kids behind.

Today my friend Lalo who works in the spinach fields and willingly volunteered to help out in the Arizona Biden-Harris and Mark Kelly's Campaign, tested positive for Covid after returning to the fields, simply due to lack of protective measurements.

Who's gonna make sure that Lalo and the 165k essential workers from Arizona get the prioritization to get the vaccination? @dougducey @CaptMarkKelly @RubenGallego @KateWGallego
If one more friend dies due to negligence in the fields, I will personally boycott the foundations of the institutions that have failed to protect people like Lalo and Jorge and crumble them.
