yes people (including me) complain about commentary on twitter bc it's bad

yes you have every right as a commentary in a small community to say "eat my ass" in response

neither improve anything. in fact it just keeps looping into negativity. here's my constructive criticism: https://twitter.com/slime_machine/status/1340766876448657408
specifically, this set. everyone starts talking abt their own personal sets and friendlies they have played IRL (after ppl just complained for not having this set be played instead of peach/whatever). might sound like a dick, but i don't care abt
-the commentator's own personal melee sets in a match like Hax vs Magi. there is SO MUCH going on between the two players, but instead i get to hear abt salty friendlies that "were actually full of sexual tension! y'all should've made out xD"
If this were a random pools match or something, i wouldn't care that much. being in pgh, the commentary style is LITERALLY based around "oh we aren't that good, we don't give a fuck, were trying to be funny and entertaining," so i know what it looks/sounds like.
there is nothing wrong with that style of commentary. but here there isn't even an attempt to stay on topic or talk about the match going on. Magi beats Hax for fucks sake. there's bad commentary and distractingly bad commentary.
i don't want to seem like i'm trying to personally attack the commentators for what they say on the mic, cuz yeah it's hard to always fill up the time talking, i know that. but PLEASE try to avoid talking abt your own bracket runs/sets/whatever. what if leffen did that?
imagine if every time he got on the mic to commentate he talked about beating or losing to whoever is playing. that would get old fast. it applies to everyone.
Another specific mark on a set, Soonsay vs BBB. Game 1 a lot happened and the commentary was generally okay. after BBB won the conversation went to "damn all he did to take that stock after all that crazy shit was press L." not sure if it's a joke/sarcasm/w.e. but it's lame
reducing melee to singular inputs can be good for emphasis (example of it being done well is when Hbox won Evo, by Scar). but it's basically said there and it feels like it disregards everything done up to that point. there's a lot of speed contrast in melee. why be cynical?
