I don't share the outrage expressed by others about elected officials getting vaccinated early on, though I understand and sympathize with why they're angry. I think seeing people who exacerbated this pandemic rush to get the vax will do a lot of good for promoting the vaccine..

I'm no fan of many of these senators and congressmen, but they're still elected leaders and our country will need to function to get things like COVID relief passed, funding the federal government, and ushering in a new administration more committed to science...

And given the lies put out there re:covid by Individual 1 and his ilk, seeing these conservative legislatures get vaccinated reminds people that this virus is real, the situation is serious, and science (not politicians) have delivered hope to the world. I'm OK with that message

They've been flooded with misinformation. Those images of them getting the Vax are powerful for them.

We need everyone on board

The heroic efforts made in getting this vaccine out to the public may be undercut if a large share of our country refuses to take the shots.

I want all of my senators/reps to be vaccinated. Bipartisan shots.

It's the best PR science can ask for.
