I disagree. The renewables revolution is a strategic danger to Russia, its economy, and its petro-politics.
John McCain liked to call Russia “a gas station, with an army, run by gangsters.” No gas, no gas station. https://nytimes.com/interactive/2020/12/16/magazine/russia-climate-migration-crisis.html

The more renewable energy in countries served by Russian oil and gas, the less Russia can cause economic and political mischief there. Economists see Russia as highly vulnerable to the “carbon bubble.” When oil prices collapse in bubble, Russia gas station gets wiped out early.
Many gas/oil nations are not our friends, across the Middle East and elsewhere, so global transition to clean energy advances our national security. Even fringe/maniac forces like ISIS and No Korea seize/need oil and gas. Global renewables revolution hampers their evil.
But domestic fossil fuel forces put own interests ahead of national interest and oppose policies that would weaken US antagonists and strengthen US friends.
A Biden foreign policy with renewables revolution at the center makes us and friends stronger, enemies and evil weaker.
