Players and teams will continue to opt-out at a significant rate unless they are playing for meaningful stakes...If we want more teams to be relevant then we need to give more programs a legitimate path to the primary purpose
In the past things like Conference Championships, Division Championships, NY bowl games all were enticing objectives for players and programs...That is no longer the case...Expansion to 16 will keep more teams and programs relevant across the country
The regular season may get watered down a bit, but that is going to be the cost of saving the sport in the future
