I debated the issue of #ForceTheVote. No one was able to point to any significant downside. (Bad press? There’s a multi Billion $ anti #m4all press engine. It’s still popular).

There are, however, considerable potential upsides.
People offer up a “loss of political capital” as an excuse. But AOC’s failure to get her desired committee appointment this week reveals that an inside strategy without outside pressure always benefits consummate insiders like Pelosi.
The squad members are safe in their seats. And for once, they hold real power: the power to oust the most powerful and disliked Democrat in the country; A woman whose favorables are worse than Trump’s. Even if she were replaced by someone to her right, they’d have less power.
The issue isn’t that we need to “convince” new people of the benefits of M4All. The issue is that Democratic politicians aren’t accountable to their constituents because they aren’t called out by the media (or often by other progressives.)
We are in the middle of a global health pandemic that has revealed the vulnerability of our system. 15 million have lost their employer based insurance. Corporate Democrats, sensing vulnerability, say “healthcare is a human right” even as they reject single-payer.
If now is not the time for a big stunt to draw attention to the exigent need for Medicare for All, when? How? And what are you doing to make *your alternative plan* happen?

If the answer is nothing, consider why you’re obstructing this.
