Rewatching this scene some time ago made me finally realize how solid of a Jedi Luke is.

Here’s the thing with Luke for me (short thread):
I never *really* grew up with him. I was a PT guy. Luke was never the central hero figure I looked up to as a kid that he (1/) https://twitter.com/jaykingingram/status/1340399395582296065
was with many other fans, which is great! If I did look up to him, then I don’t remember it. I don’t hate his character; I just never found him emotionally resonant with me as one. Throughout my life, I only ever heard the fandom’s opinion of him where they generally (2/)
overrated him because of how much he means to fans. I never knew my own opinion of him (heck, I really still don’t). But the BF 2 Luke appearance was truly the first time I emotionally connected with him as a character. His selflessness and compassion SHONE through in a way (3/)
I never felt and resonated with before. I don’t know if I’ll truly connect with Luke the way I have with Yoda or Cal Kestis. But if we get more scenes like this and I marinate on them in my own time, that might change. (4/4)
