We like to say that the Oceania tour was when the winds from the BRF really started to blow against H&M, but I would argue that the whispers about the Hubb Community project marked a change as well.
Here was a woman, a few months after marrying in, who had tangible results in a community usually very hard to reach by royalty.

It didn't help that the cookbook would go on to sell out and make over 500k for this community.
It drew a stark contrast between Meghan and Kate, Kate had been in the family for years with almost a decade of dating even before actual "service" and we were still (and are) getting stories about how she was just getting used to royal life.
Maybe more importantly it took shots at William. He had done the usual royal thing of coming and talking with survivors, which is cool and all. But now Meghan had this thing people could hold in their hands and obvious rapport with the women of the kitchen.
I think it would be generous to say that the Cambridges could not have been happy with this contrasting image beginning to form.
Many have taken shots (me included) at the Cambridges for telling people they are working behind the scenes but not having anything to show for it, sometimes even mispronouncing charity names or getting basic facts wrong in speeches.
Meghan comes barreling down the tubes with a finished project. KP was pissed.
Meghan and Harry have taken this approach when it comes to Archewell. They release finished projects.
