Texans: does anyone have a recipe for the orange salsa you get with breakfast tacos? You know the one I mean, smooth, very spicy, clearly habanero based. Herr Doktor Professor Google is failing me.
Looks like this. Might well be tomato and habanero and vinegar.
But I suspect it might be straight habanero emulsified in oil.
Ok guys. I made it. 3 habaneros, carrot juice, lime, garlic, oil, half a carrot. It’s… close. Very very spicy.
Holy bananas that stuff is spicy. Here it is while I’m assembling my leftover pot roast pita wrap. I added more sauce later.
So the question is, how does the taqueria one get glossier? I think it's more oil and less juice.
