Very disappointed to read this. Fiona Bruce has a poor record when it comes to being inclusive of non-religious people
When I worked in religious education she became Chair of the APPG on RE & promptly changed its ToR to specifically exclude any study of the non-religious (1/2) https://twitter.com/tariqahmadbt/status/1340638338743750656

In doing so she went against the advice of the RE Council, the direction of travel among most RE professionals, and legal rulings on including non-religious worldviews in RE
I do not have confidence in her ability to cover the Freedom of Belief part of her new brief (2/2)

Here's what the RE Council had to say about it at the time (in a joint statement with NATRE, the National Association of Teachers of RE): https://www.religiouseducationcouncil.org.uk/news/rec-joint-statement-with-natre-on-the-appg-on-re/
