There is a real need to study the B.1.1.7 lineage and defining mutations, but no need for over speculation. Just like with D614G, we need to let the data tell the story. We’ll know more soon.

Top priority is determining the impact on vaccines and drugs. Assuming that lots of good labs are already working on this. 💪
Also - just want to recognize the incredible work by the COVID-19 Genomics Consortium UK (CoG-UK) @CovidGenomicsUK for their surveillance efforts, giving us a chance to recognize and study new variants as they arise. 👏🏻
