My hopes for 2021: #1. Return of Christ: his Kingdom come. #2. Another Great Awakening. #3. Peace among nations. #4. The church's return to a deep commitment to live by "the whole Bible, rightly divided." #5 Covid is conquered by the vaccines.

#6. The poor and the middle class who have been economically devastated by Covid enter into financial stability well above that of pre-Covid. #7. Civility returns as the norm for discussions on political differences. #8. Republicans and Democrats return to the middle.

#9. The news media earns the trust of the vast majority of people. #10. That trust is restored between individuals and social groupings. #11. That justice triumphs over fear and pride.

#12. That Christians everywhere will spend more time in the Bible and prayer than on social media. #13. That the Holy Spirit radically convicts the people of the church of their sins against each other.

#14. That people will stop desecrating the American flag by wearing it as clothing and distorting its appearance (color & stripes) for political causes. (I defend their constitutional right to do these things but I deplore the behavior -- One nation, One flag.)

# 15. That two phrases disappear from the English language: "deep state" and "fake news."

This list is from the top of my head. I'm certain the list would be much longer if I took the time to reflect on it.
