Wow, ok, buckle up, everyone. I was googling "medieval butt trumpet" to doublecheck myself on this thread, and...I think I discovered a bunch of...FORGED medieval butt trumpets??? #MedievalTwitter https://twitter.com/erik_kaars/status/1340651398413860864
So, I was skimming through Google search images, and I saw some results from websites and Pinterest that seemed odd to me. I took a closer look, and I recognized a bunch of the images, but the versions I knew didn't have trumpets??

A LOT OF THAT WEBSITE'S IMAGES DO NOT ORIGINALLY HAVE TRUMPETS.

The trumpet here is so BLATENTLY not part of the original image.
The right (which I *think* is from the The Gorleston Psalter) is the original, with no trumpet. I need to track down the exact folio.

This is a WEIRD one, bc it already has so much going on, so why add a trumpet??

I just....don't understand why someone would make up a bunch of medieval butt trumpets. I don't know if that site did it or if they found them online.

I *think* several of the others are also fakes (like this one), but none of these have citations for the original manuscripts, making it difficult to check the originals.
