1. Generally, women are pressured to conform to societal standards more than men. Societal standards heavily lean on religion/culture. 2. As wives, women are not only caregivers but also spiritual intercessors. A concept that women are gentle and soft, hence, their prayers answers faster, invariably makes them more bound to religious activities.

3. Men are more prone to take up physically intensive jobs. Men are also heavily involved in industrialization hence, they would rather avoid religious gathering and paraphernalia as much as they can just to get some rest. Yeah, it's sometimes that simple.
4. Religion gives hope.
As an oppressed sect and minority, having more intimacy with the higher being is consolation. For all its worth, they are closer to the creator of heaven and earth, what is more than that?
