“From now on, each loan will be analysed in detail, with a special emphasis placed on coaches and their way of dealing with the youngsters, as well as the situation of the team they would join and the level of competition...”

Remember this? Lol
Since then, Real Madrid’s two best youngsters, in my opinion, Reinier Jesus and Takefusa Kubo were sent to Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal respectively, with both teenagers struggling for game-time in teams packed with alternative players.
What research did this dEpaRtment do when the club thought “great idea, let’s send them to these two clubs?” Surely it’s better to be at clubs that aren’t necessarily playing in the Champions League/Europa League, but at least exposes the two of them to 20-30 matches per season.
At their ages, Reinier (18) and Kubo (19), surely the most important thing is for them to be playing the majority of the season in teams competing in the top five leagues?
For the biggest club in the world, boy do Real Madrid make some shockingly amateurish errors at times. Like, where’s the planning?

And to add insult to injury, they’ve banked on a ‘youth project’ but put zero thought in the development plans of their two chief talents 😖
Wouldn’t Kubo be better of at a team that’s 10-20th in La Liga, but is a team that will start him regularly? Kubo would still play matches vs Madrid, Barca, Atleti, Valencia, Villarreal, La Real, Sevilla & Athletic, home and away, but he starts regularly, it’s not rocket science
Same with Reinier. A team 10-18th in the Bundesliga, but he would start regularly. He would still potentially start in games vs Bayern, BVB, Bayer, Gladbach & Leipzig, home and away.

Both would be getting game-time exposure and experience, which is the most important thing.
Players cannot develop on the bench, in the stands or sat at home in front of the television. If you want your ‘youth project’ to be a success, then use your brains and do it properly. Otherwise, stop buying them and focus on ready-made players which Zidane wanted to begin with!
