Kondajji (Thread):
Kondajji is a small a village located on the way from Hassan to Halebeedu. Kondajji means "Grandma who took". Belur Temple and Kondajji are related to each other.

During the ancient times, in some parts , there was a tradition that only after the induction of
the statue, the construction of Sanctum Santorum starts. But in Belur, induction of statue started after the construction of Sanctum Santorum. But the height of the statue was bigger than the Sanctum Santorum. So, when the statue was on the way, on the request of
a Grandma, the statue was inducted in the village, which why it's called Kondajji according the Temple Priest and the villagers. The Temple is Lord Varadaraja Swamy Temple.
Lord Varadaraja Swamy in his Glory.
This is how the temple looks like now. The construction hasn't completed even though it has a great history. 15 years ago villagers took initiative but the effort has gone in vain.

The Villagers say when it rains the water leaks and due to the heat, the cement wall is getting split. This is how the interior of the temple looks like. It brought me tears by looking at the temple. How could do this to a temple which has a great history.
It's a sin to start the construction and then neglecting like it doesn't matter. When @BSYBJP rallied during the Vidhana Sabha elections, he promised that only after finishing the construction, he will enter the village. But nothing has happened ever since.
I urge @BSYBJP to please look in to the matter seriously and take immediate action and release the funds and appoint efficient engineers, so that the our temples stay forever and for future generations. I request all of you retweet for the maximum reach. Thank you.
