If there’s covid out there, I’m all for a reliable diagnostic test.
But we must know the FPR and the False Discovery (or Diagnosis) Rate (FDR). (thread)

A new paper from Swansea looks closely at 31 “+ve” cases. After checks, “+ve predictive value “ (PPV) just 5 true in 31 “+ves” or 16%.
So the False Discovery Rate (FDR) was a whopping 84% (26 false out of 31 “+ve”)

We don’t know the oFPR for our PCR tests and we don’t know the FDR. Flying blind.
