After the end of the transition on the 1st Jan the government is introducing a relaxed customs clearance process for goods arriving from the EU.
Note that this does not mean goods solely of EU origin as there are undoubtedly ways...

This means that we are now susceptible to counterfeiting of medicines, alcohol and tobacco, or to inferior/dangerous products...

I personally, will not be buying alcohol or tobacco products with names I do not recognise. Even if I do recognise the brands I will only buy them from trusted sellers. Similarly with medicines or health products. I won't buy them over the Internet (that should go without...
... saying) and I will only get prescription medicines from trusted sources.
There are people out there who will exploit this situation for personal gain, regardless of the damage it can cause to the public. And I'm being cautious.
