Just in case my tweets are being watched closely and wind up on the news.. B.C. is testing half the average of the rest of Canada. Aerosol spread of the virus is widely accepted globally and schools have been, and still are unsafe, especially without masks👇
Children can, and do catch and transmit the virus effectively, and have been driving the spread. Even though most remain asymptomatic or have mild symptoms, some suffer more serious conditions, and long term effects are still unknown. 👇
The death rate of our seniors in LTC homes is an unnecessary tragedy. If rapid and asymptomatic testing were done in these homes, the bulk of these terrible losses could be avoided. If we can test film crews and ski lodges, we can do it there. 👇
Hospitals and the people who work in them are already stretched, and bed capacity is critical. Nurses are burnt out and taking leave, and all numbers are glaringly absent or skewed. You cannot say what facts are when you cannot and will not be transparent👇
The Indigenous people of our province have been hidden and the Northern reaches have been left largely untested and untraced, with the occasional emergency team to show up in small communities to move people to hospitals. 👇
Site-C is a train wreck, an economic and environmental disaster. They didn't want it and then did it anyways. Anyone who wants to bother looking will see what's happening there. The toll it's take on the smaller communities during Covid.. 👇
Is something that should be etched forever in history. Not in a good way. The lack of regard for human life during this has been shocking and devastating, but the amount of people party to it, even more so. 👇
I stand by every tweet, and every question, and every fear, because I've been paying very close attention since late January, and I've read enough graphs and heard from enough experts locally and from around the world to know we just aren't that special. 👇
Anyone could check any number of tweets from the number of intelligent, well-educated, and resourceful people I follow, who have compassion and common sense, and wind up learning a great deal about what's happening beyond the veil of B.C. 👇
One thing I am not though, is a conspiracy theorist. I'm a mom, a friend, and an advocate. When that is described as a "sect" or a "fringe group", then we are witnessing not just a pandemic, but a government doing damage control. @jjhorgan @BillTieleman
