artifacts and what you need to know ; a thread for confused genshin players
artifacts are equipment items that increase characters stats. there are usually five slots in your characters artifact tab.
there are five categories of artifacts, you have a flower, headwear, goblet, timepiece, and a feather.
each artifact will have a mainstat, but certain artifacts will have a fixed mainstat, meaning that it has the same mainstat no matter what set. take the feather and flower for example, the feather only has atk as mainstat while the flower only has hp mainstat !
while the other artifact categories have randomized mainstats ! such as def, crit rate, elemental mastery, healing bonus, etc .
along with mainstats, artifacts can have up to 4 substats! although, artifacts cannot share the same mainstat and substat (example, mainstat ATK cannot gain a flat out ATK substat however could gain an ATK% substat.)
how to get/farm these artifacts? well, there are domains that have specific sets to give once you complete the domain !!
the midsummer courtyard gives the thundering fury and thundersoother artifact sets ! best for electro mains!
valley of remembrance offers the viridescent venerer and maiden beloved set ! suited for anemo characters !
the hidden palace of zhou formula offers the crimson witcg of flames as well as lava walker! these are best for pyro users!
next up we have clear pool and mountain cavern which offers noblesse oblige and blood stained chivalry!
lastly, we have the domain of guyun which gives out archaic petra and retracing bolide! archaic petra is best for geo users while retracing bolide is best for those characters who have shields !
tips for artifacts !
if you need artifacts to use as fodder, you can usually purchase from these three people !
another tip is that you shouldn't always go for ATK as your mainstat on your artifacts. you should consider your characters role and talents and which artifacts you should use in order to utilize that role and talents.
for dps characters, you should focus on atk and crit rate! this is so you can deal more damage during battle!
for healers, you would rather focus on hp and def! healers usually scale off of def and hp stats! increase these stats for better heals!
as for support characters, try elemental mastery and energy recharge! support characs usually need to use their skills in order to shine! and for them to be more effective, they need to be able to use their skills faster.
of course, you can break from their roles and experiment with your characters to get to know your playing style! i've seen alot of people build a healer (barbara) offensive and she does mass amounts of damage! +
so don't be afraid of playing around with artifacts to see what you can do with your characs!
next up are universal sets! and what i mean by that, are sets that come from bosses! (stormterror, childe, wolf, etc .)
the two sets you'll often be getting from these bosses are usually +
gladiator's finale and wanderer's troupe! (which are both really good sets)
