If you think the taliban in Afghanistan is analogous to BH in Nigeria the we don’t really have much to argue about.

1. Taliban has far wider legitimacy and acceptance in local populations

3. The democratically elected Afghan government is seen as a puppet installation of the us, hence there’s little or no legitimacy to act on their side

4. Afghanistan is a Muslim majority, mostly culturally homogenous country.

To fight communism. When they defeated the Soviets they had far reaching acceptance and legitimacy.

For negotiations to be justified, the group must have some form of legitimacy to demand for anything
Boko Haram has none. They’re a bunch of extremists that deviate significantly from both the ideology of Nigeria’s morderate Muslim majority and the Christians. They kill, rape, destroy properties.
Their sole aim is the establishment of an Islamic state in Nigeria, an impossibility. They’re not same thing Taofeeq
