the difference between rural and urban Ontario right now is so stark. no-one I know will go anywhere near a city. everything is closed, everyone is very tense. where I live everything is open. gyms, malls, restaurants. no one says anything if someone isn't in a mask. 1/
the ski hill just opened. school is done for semester, but 95% of kids were back all fall. The difference btwn here & Toronto is like different planets now. I actually feel anxious just hearing about if from friends in the city. people can't live like that, they're losing it 2/
I just don't know how much longer this is sustainable in cities. Kids can't be indoors this much. people are at their mental breaking point. Peel & Toronto going into extended lockdown & I don't know if my friends & family living there will get through it. They're struggling 3/
Winter is very hard in Canada to begin with. Its dark at 4. Its freezing. Driving is dangerous on icy roads. Everything is harder in winter. I have a very bad feeling about these next few weeks. I see people giving up now, totally overwhelmed. Suicides are going to skyrocket 4/
