So true, but one day the pandemic will be over, what will remain in this hypocrisy in reporting when it comes to First Nations people, African Australians, Muslim Australians, and other minorities.
This is a hypocrisy we have to live with; and at it worse, it shapes our lives. https://twitter.com/DaveMilbo/status/1340519181607813122

I mean literally shape our lives. The African gangs narrative started around the killing of young South Sudanese boy by two white men. One is reported saying he was looking to kill blacks. After this horror, the initial media report claimed this was ethnic gang violence.
In reply, then Minister of Immigration cut humanitarian intake from Africa because Africans were no âassimilatingâ. Until today, many people continue to struggle to bring family members for reunification in Australia.
Yet, it all began with a lie.

When this happened, I was a teenager. Newly arrived. I kept wondering why we were being punished when one of us was killed in a racist attacked. It quickly shattered my delusions of my new home. It was a brutal lesson.
