People say that it’s an excuse to say Canelo was too young, I told anyone that’d listen that Canelo shouldn’t have taken this fight at the time & Floyd would embarrass him, especially after struggling against Austin Trout. business wise. I’d love to see today’s version of Canelo vs. Floyd... but I’m not sure today’s version of Canelo exists without the Floyd fight.
With that said, people getting way too hyped by Canelo for no reason and saying he’d beat Floyd and then making excuses after, doesn’t mean that it isn’t true that Canelo was much too inexperienced for this fight at the time. Floyd saw the opportunity & capitalized.
