(Boruto character thread)

A lot of people dismiss when Boruto is put in conversation for the one of the best new gen MCs when he genuinely has a solid character arc so far
I love the subtle developments and nuances within his character sometimes showing hints of the idealism that Naruto used to be loved for but is also very grounded in reality and isn’t the self righteous character people assume he is
Unlike Naruto who’s story was one of an underdog that was looked down on and had to prove his worth by becoming stronger following a plot where he slowly shifted that perception as the story progresses
Boruto already has that acknowledgment instead he’s thrust into a fate that forces him to begin to change his perception shown in the reality checks he gets when he’s shown the darker side of the shinobi world
A lot of the time unlike Naruto who was firm in his beliefs Boruto is a character who’s resolve has been tested and steeled by his acknowledgement of his flaws in his character shown best in the Chunin exams where his insecurities were at their peak
The perfect example of that resolve being steeled is through his inability to make a decision as simple as breaking his arm to in recent chapters even willing to take his own life being more afraid of the very situation happening rn over dying
Overall he’s a great character and I feel like these coming events as well as the time-skip will only serve to further strengthen this statement the changing point to the older version we get in the first scene is only starting and I’m ready to see how it unfolds 😁
