Bit of a #TheMandalorian spoilers rant/thread, and why I have a bit of a problem with the appearance of the character at the end of the last episode:
#TheMandalorian , first of all, it makes perfect sense in-universe for him to be there. I'm not going to deny this. And everything he does fits where he is and what he is doing at this point in time.
#TheMandalorian but it's kinda weird that Mando gives him the child without any hesitation or even going with him. He doesn't ask Luke his name or what his intentions are with the child. He 100% trusts him with the creature he loves the most.
#TheMandalorian Mando trusts Luke because WE, the audience, trust Luke. But doesn't make sense that Mando trusts him (specially considering that one of the few things he knows about jedi is that they constantly fought his people).
#TheMandalorian And you can say "well, if Grogu trusts Luke, Mando trusts Grogu" but still felt too quick and too easy. Particularly considering Luke comes off as a teacher for Grogu, not as a family for Grogu.
#TheMandalorian Also, dramatically, it's very weak to have a character that is completely unrelated to this plot to come along in the last 5 minutes, save everybody, resolve everything and finish the main character's ark.
#TheMandalorian Imagine yourself watching Daredevil, and in the last episode of the series, in the last 5 minutes, Iron Man appears, does everything that took 2 seasons for Daredevil to do, saves everybody, defeats Kingpin and then leaves.
#TheMandalorian I know everybody was waiting for a Named Jedi to appear. But to me it would have been much more fun if a small group of force sensitive memers of Yoda's species appeared. It would even feel very E.T. which feels fitting.
#TheMandalorian It would have kept the show in the boundaries of it's own story and style. It would have been amazing to see 3 new Yoda puppets. And you would inmediatelly get the feeling that these people cared for Grogu, the lost child.
#TheMandalorian It would have felt sweeter, since they would have come off as they were taking Grogu to his home and his family, not to be trained to be a space wizard in a school that at some point will burn.
#TheMandalorian End of rant. I did like the episode, the season and the series so far. And I don't really have that much a big problem with Luke here. It's just my slight discrepancy with the direction the show took.
