@ChampagneConnie and I made it to the northwest corner of #lakeHodges today, got some nice birds shots - including a Lifer!! A Vermillion flycatcher đŸ„° So much red ❀
Initial view was right into the evening sun and thought it was a Black phoebe. There was one nearby.

Always an excellent chance of seeing Western grebes at Hodges. Cute how they ride so low in the water. Spring is awesome with the chics riding on the back of moms 😄 And the sprinting on the water đŸ„°

Not water birds, but Acorn woodpeckers are regulars around the big oak trees around the lake. Can’t be woodpeckers if at least one is not upside down 😁
