1/ TECH-OVERREACH (PART 1)
I'm going to share some of my own insights from the tech industry. I have a Computer Science & Engineering background and worked for nearly 25 years in Information Technology and Consulting before going into full-time ministry. Hindsight is 20/20.
2/ I have made many mistakes not realizing tech companies would become such vessels of censorship and political propaganda. It infuriates me that they have decided on our behalf what we can and cannot read and believe. In addition, no organization should ever censor civic leaders
3/ especially the president and his administration (regardless of party affiliation).

I would recommend that everyone consider their social media and tech choices going forward. In particular, consider which platforms have integrated themselves with other tech choices.
4/ For example, how often have you signed up on a new site using your Facebook ID, Google ID, Microsoft ID, Apple ID, Amazon ID, etc.

By far, the greatest abusers of tech overreach thus far are Facebook and Google. They have been tracking you, collecting your information and
5/ I have no confidence that they are honoring your privacy. I am not a private person. I have nothing to hide. However, we have seen how their influence and control has been abused for election interference as well as the censoring of important information that should be
6/ available to all. They are using our information to target their censorship and propaganda. Google and Facebook in particular oversee a stunning amount of personal info that includes our life events, pictures, friends, personal views, personal history, etc.
7/ I'm not private but I don't want leftist organizations owning my data for use in their leftist purposes.

Thus far, Facebook and Google have been the greatest abusers. However, Amazon is perfectly positioned to do the same and if you only think in terms of online retail,
8/ then you HAVE NO IDEA how much tech infrastructure they own both personally and corporately.

On a lesser level, Apple and Microsoft are also concerns. Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to operate on the Internet or any kind of tech without using at least some of their
9/ platforms and technology.

However, here's my advice to you all:
1) Choose alternatives options to major platforms/tech when available;
2) Do not allow any of these platforms to become your "broker" for other sites. In other words, don't leverage your ID on one site to make
10/ it easier to log into another site. I have done this far too often (especially with FB and Google) and wish I could undo all that now;
3) Instead of leveraging one ID, create unique IDs and use a good password manager;
4) Be a minimalist with how much info you provide.
11/ That is all for now. If this is helpful, I will share more insights later.

Ultimately, we are stewards of God's grace and now that we understand how these companies operate, I think we need to be more thoughtful and intentional about our use of their solutions.
