Let me explain some of the reason for my less than kind response to lack of response and limp enforcement by @SaskatoonPolice to the anti-mask rallies that endanger ppl, spread lies, and scoff at the law. There's a reason. I'm a gay man of a certain age, but still not 60. /2
In my lifetime it's been illegal, literally, to be gay - Evert Klippert was arrested & jailed indefinitely in Saskatchewan in the 60s for having sex w other consenting adults. I've seen our clubs & bars raided by the police as harassment & police coming in to intimidate us. /3
I've known men entrapped by undercover police officers pretending to want sex, then being arrested AND the police publishing their names and addresses. It's been decades of false arrests, trumped up charges and unnecessary harassment. /4
I left a club here once & on the way to my car kids drove past, threw a beer bottle, yelled "We're going to KILL you fa***t then chased me around downtown for 5 minutes trying to ram me until I got behind them & got their plate number so I could report it to @SaskatoonPolice. /5
When I did call, the answer was, & this is a quote "Well what do you want US to do?" So after all this I get to watch as the police pretty much refuse to do their duty during the greatest public health emergency in 100 yrs. Deciding if they'll take action.

It's infuriating & pathetic that these monsters are gathering & refusing to help do the least possible to defeat Covid in a prov w one of highest infection rates in Canada. WTF are you waiting for, @SaskatoonPolice? Don't want to stir the waters? Friends of yours? Do your job.
These people need to be marginalized & condemned for these actions & views. There's no both sides here. Masks work, they don't harm the wearers and they will save us. They, literally, need to feel afraid of expressing these extremist views.
