Some SPOILER-y thoughts about The Mandalorian finale I will almost definitely regret tweeting about but nonetheless feel inclined to share:

I was a fan of everything in Season 2, and found it among the most satisfying Star Wars storytelling ever, until the last 10 minutes.
MORE SPOILERS! BEWARE!

I don't think we needed Luke in this story, I think it collapses the scale of this universe to have everyone interact with him like this, and it felt like the larger universe intruding on Mando's personal story, which is the one in which I'm invested.
STILL MORE SPOILERS!

I also think we can all admit now that this technology is just not where we WISH it was, and the de-aging effects are not good enough to trick the eye or disappear into the background so we can focus on the interpersonal drama of the scene.
LAST SPOILERS! THIS IS IT!

I also kind of thought the Luke vs. Terminator Droids bit lasted a beat too long. Should've left me wanting a little more.

Also none of this applies to the Boba Fett post-credit scene. I thought that was cool.
"Well, X had to happen because Y already happened a few weeks ago!" is not really a strong argument in this case. The same 3 people come up with everything that happens on The Mandalorian. They could've potentially gone hundreds of different ways vis a vis the finale.
