Increased SOB on background of malignancy. Plankton sign! Safe window for aspiration identified
Another patient with left leg swelling ?DVT. Diagnosis at bedside avoiding a formal scan 48 hours later. Popliteal DVT shown.
Generally unwell, peripheral oedema. Poor historian. Bedside echo shows severe LVSD and dilated and impaired RV. Anteroseptal akinesia. Plethoric IVC.
Patient with significant AKI. Gross hydronephrosis ruled out using bedside ultrasound.
Patient treated for alcohol related hepatitis. Bedside US showed multiple complex round lesions concerning for mets.
Finally, difficult IV access. Successful 1st attempt with US guidance using @ButterflyNetInc biplane. No clip unfortunately!
I never thought I would say this, but I think I have found US equally or perhaps even more useful on Acute Medicine than ICU!
