The US has institutionalized poverty because if wealth were more evenly distributed in the most powerful nation on earth there'd be no ruling class to ensure the domination of the globe-spanning empire. Plutocrats wouldn't be able to buy the system; the people would control it.
This is the real wall US progressives keep crashing into when fighting for economic justice. Not a lack of votes, not a lack of seats in congress, not "it's just not realistic right now", but a system that is deliberately rigged to keep the general public poor and powerless.
You can't work within the system to obtain economic justice because the system is explicitly designed to maintain economic injustice. You will keep crashing into that same exact wall, over and over and over again, no matter how hard you try.
If by some miracle you manage to follow all the rules of electoral politics and get in a position to force economic justice, there will be an antisemitism scandal. There will be a Russia scandal. Someone will say they were raped. Whatever needs to happen to take away your power.
You'll never change anything as long as there's an effective imperial narrative management engine propagandizing people into accepting the status quo instead of taking direct action outside of the system that is deliberately rigged against them. You must address this FIRST.
A grassroots people's information rebellion is what is needed to even begin taking the first step toward economic justice in America. You will never, ever, ever accomplish anything as long as the plutocratic class is successfully manipulating the way people think, act and vote.
There's just too much power invested in the US status quo for the people to be permitted to overturn it. Nothing in the official system will allow you to do that, and you won't be able to use unofficial means until you can crack through establishment narrative domination.
Nope. You will never, ever, ever have any kind of rebellion as long as people are being successfully propagandized into supporting the status quo. You need to address the problem of establishment information domination FIRST before revolution can occur. https://twitter.com/T0Paine/status/1340427509943459847?s=20
Anyone who's escaped a relationship with a manipulative abuser knows it doesn't work like that. You cannot be expected to just leave without first finding a way to free your mind from the abuser's manipulations. This applies to relationships and empires. https://twitter.com/casualpolemic/status/1340428371772227587?s=20
Saying the working class just needs to just get its shit together is victim blaming. They're being deliberately psychologically abused into compliance by the most advanced propaganda system that has ever existed. We need to get their rapey fingers out of their minds first.
It's very possible if enough of us put enough effort into it. Trust in the plutocratic media is at an all-time low and our ability to network and share information is at an all-time high; the opportunity to collectively awaken has never been better. https://twitter.com/vetos_/status/1340428139445497865?s=20
...But our rulers know this too, which is why they're working so hard to close off our ability to share unauthorized information with each other via rapidly escalating internet censorship protocols. So we need to act NOW. We need to start moving before they bolt the door shut.
