THREAD. It's nearly #Christmas , and a weird one. So, to lift everyone's spirit, here's some music. Very few people in the West know that Carol of the Bells is originally a Ukrainian carol Schedryk (A Little Swallow).

Here's a traditional rendition:

1/x
A more modern take on Shchedryk by Vopli Vidopliasova, a Ukrainian rock band:

2/x
An instrumental version of Shchedryk by Onuka, Ukraine's top electro-folk group:

3/x
Shchedryk perfromed a capella (in English, in Carol of the Bells version) by the US Air Forces band:

4/x
And, my personal favourite rendition of Shchedryk: by Katie Melua and a choir from Gori, Georgia, performed for the BBC in London

5/5
And here's one more rendition - with lyrics in both Ukrainian and English: a really beautiful version, if you ask me!
