People keep saying how hard a job the government has, the gravest problem in decades, which is true.

But it’s also true that every government around the world has faced the same.

And our prime minister has been an international embarrassment, from the first to the last.

From shaking hands with coronavirus patients, to claiming he’ll see his mum on Mother’s Day, to sending the virus packing, to normality by Christmas, to “world beating” test and trace, it’s an endless list of utter embarrassment.

The worst man at the worst time. Horrific.

Completely failing to set any kind of tone, to find any suitable words, to offer any kind of leadership, at all, not least when your own advisor put NHS workers' lives at risk.

That's the easy part, and he has failed utterly.
