First of all let's define the word "cowardice":
Refusal of making decisions
Isolation
Delegation to protect one's self
Contemplation

But what is courage? Can anyone have true courage if they hold no fear?
The first step in finding courage is to acknowledge fear to ourselves and others.
The second is to do something. Anything reasonable will do.

What's not courage:
Disregarding concequences
Indifference to others. It's always more courageous to include others.
Impulsiveness
Desperation

Setsuna needs to "prove" herself and survive, because from then on she will be on "her own" .
She needs to learn that fear is not evil but taking responsible action is true courage!
"Contemplation without action is the cowards retreat."

Cowards don't have the courage to move forward. She needs to prove she is courageous enough, against her circumstances. She needs to allow people come closer to her. Isolation is a step towards cowardice. Unity makes us "strong" and "determined".
