this moment from break the silence: the movie commentary made me realize a lot about jimin as an artist so i had some thoughts i wanted to share.

see how everyone around him is literally SCREAMING about his performance? in this moment you would think he’d absorb the cheers or brush them off lightly. but he doesn’t. he doesn’t even really react to them. why? cause he’s watching every detail of the performance intensely. ++ https://twitter.com/blackxagustdmp4/status/1340291192970424320
he doesn’t react to anyone screaming he looks good cause he’s so concentrated on his dancing and singing. he’s so hyper aware that he noticed and pointed out a mistake (missing a key part) that no one even realized happened cause they were busy getting excited (“JIMIIIIIN”
) ++

it’s one of those things where i could easily say “you don’t need to be a perfectionist, we love you and how you perform!”. part of being his fan is loving him pretty much unconditionally. it’s easy to say “i wish he wasn’t such a perfectionist” too because you care about him. ++
it’s not with bad intention. but quite often we associate perfectionism with the mindset of not being good enough. what people don’t realize is that people who have talents/skills that can be mastered seek out perfectionism to be the best at what they do. he never settles. ++
when you’re amongst the small percentage in the world who have the talents he has, and it’s a very small percentage, a perfectionist mindset isn’t always a bad thing. it’s often what motivates people to never settle and continue to work on their skills to keep them fine tuned. ++
sometimes, when it comes to skills, it’s okay to be a perfectionist. it’s okay to want to be the best. it is admirable to want to be better. yes he works harder than anyone, but it’s not for nothing. it’s to be the best artist he can be. his accomplishments prove that daily. ++
there is nothing we want more than for him to be happy and well-rested. however, jimin was born to share his art with the world. so if striving for perfection makes him more satisfied and happy with his own work as an artist, then that should also be acknowledged. ++
he never acts like he is owed praise.
he works to get that recognition, to earn the compliments. he works to be seen as the artist. a master craftsman never lets his tools get dull or his pieces get rusty. he polishes everything, every little part, even if it looks perfect. ++

i’m so amazed by him. i’m impressed by how hard he works and how much passion he has. i’m in awe of the kind of artist he is. he’s the kind to never settle for anything because a true artist knows that you could be the best in your field and there would still be room to grow. ++
i’m just so proud of him. if this mentality keeps him happy and satisfied, i hope he continues. i hope he continues to master his passion. i hope he’s able to show the world his true art and everything he wants to convey. a true perfectionist dedicated to his craft. [end.]
