sam mewis is absolutely deserving, but @ussoccer/ @USWNT need to do some internal analysis on why the face of u.s. soccer just so happens to always be white
it’s no stretch to say that since at least 2018 no u.s. women’s footballer has been more consistently impressive than crystal dunn: 2 nwsl championships playing midfield, 1 world cup playing left back. yet morgan, ertz, and now mewis have won PotY.
it’s also a bit too on the nose that after being asked to play a tireless amount of minutes, dunn choosing to rest her body instead of signing a short-term WSL contract is enough justification for mewis’ selection.
