Fred Hampton was a member of the BLACK Panthers. He practiced idpol guys. They all did. Even if he did consider himself socialist also https://twitter.com/broseph_stalin/status/1340099489328209920
Pretending Black Panthers practiced socialism to an extent that makes them hostile to Black identity politics is such a weird stance a lot of leftists on here have. They very much did racial politics + you have no idea how he’d feel about whether a Black American should play him
Something else I always wonder is why does everyone feel a sense of ownership with Black issues to the point they feel confident lecturing them on how they should feel about their issues. Like if I saw white or Asian or Mexican people arguing about who should play their icons...
...I totally wouldn’t jump in that conversation. First off, I wouldn’t care. Second, I’d feel unqualified to weigh in. Third, it’s none of my business. I think almost no Black people would weigh in on such issues. They not only feel okay doing it to us, they jump in lecturing
They’re so comfortable doing it they will appoint themselves experts all while not actually investigating the arguments being made by the Black people on the ground complaining. They just assume they can divine the arguments (black people are too simple to make arguments...
...nonblacks can’t just divine because the chances of them knowing facts and thinking up angles they haven’t already thought of is nonexistent after all) and then end up arguing against strawman instead of just taking the time to actually investigate the debate respectfully
