“As prime minister it’s my job to take tough decisions”

Make no mistake: we’re in this mess because he hasn’t, can’t or won’t, until it’s too late.
The foundations for today’s announcement don’t lie in a new variant, but over the summer when told us to ‘show some guts’ by crowding beaches and parks, then he bribed the public to mix indoors over a meal.
Remember:

Beginning of February: 1st outbreak, @BorisJohnson goes on holiday for ten days & ignores COBRA.

25 March: told of care home problems, does nothing.

15 April: @Keir_Starmer says we need a ‘plan to end lockdown’, Johnson ignores and confusion reigns.
July: told of super-spreader crowds on beaches, tells us to ‘show some guts’.

13th Oct: @Keir_Starmer urges ‘circuit breaker’, @BorisJohnson says it’s all under control.

Last week: accuses Keir of ‘steeling Christmas’, and this week does exactly that for millions.
C19 would tax any government. But too often we have been led into chaos, confusion and avoidable loss of life.

Undeliverable promises, false optimism and wildly exaggerated achievements don’t save lives - it loses them.

Boris Johnson is not leading our country, he’s failing it.
