technology is often physical manifestation of ideology
to start with, i see ideology creating and influencing technology.

one such ideological technology is innovation in 3d printing leading to 3d printed guns becoming more widely available

ideology is [a set of beliefs], belief the right to bear arms has lead to 3d print guns
today we are in an era of mass proliferation of technology and not only that but we also have the means to mass produce further technology, almost anyone can create a start up and use it for what they believe in.

technology is the market place of ideas.
on ideology

almost everything that one touches now is tainted with ideology, people put this before all other things.

one of the most popular examples of this is the difference in western companies and chinese companies.
chinese companies are more or less state owned, whereas western companies are said to be free, but they still collude with the state, and many have backdoors for the state

technology has become an extension of foreign policy

states produce ideology as soft warfare
technology creates power dynamics, these new power dynamics become filled up with people who ideology and thus they look for places to push their ideology

currently there is an ideology of "wokism" of putting feelings over "truth" https://twitter.com/GRITCULT/status/1271056407123591169?s=20
tech being an instrument of power, it thus becomes a way of proliferating beliefs

one of the biggest debates in the modern world is that of freespeech, many say chinese state controlled tech companies have no free speech, but in the west, companies will deplatform and dox you
another debate is on the freedom of information, one thing i am wholly wary of is the ideological notion of intellectual property.

charging people for science journals is one form of this,

it leads to political rent seeking
mass acceleration in technology also leads to rent seeking, technologies can be suppressed and bought

people buying insulin at high prices but it can be synthesised for cheap has lead to a form of rent seeking backed by the government
