I don't believe in forced vaccination, but I do think requiring proof of vaccination to participate in various activities or receive certain benefits is a good idea worth serious consideration here in Canada.
In Australia the No Jab No Pay policy initiative, for example, requires kids be vaccinated for families to receive child care and family tax benefits.
I don't know what the answer is, but I do think it's something we need to start talking about. There are plenty of experts that study this that governments should be consulting with. It isn't my area of expertise but it affects me and all of us.
I also have to 🙄 every time I require proof of vaccination when I send my dog to daycare or a kennel or the groomer when nobody seems to care what preventable diseases my kids are exposed to.
Also governments enforce public health protections every single day. They're the reason restaurants get inspections. Why we wear seatbelts. And countless other things that we are all expected to abide by each and every day so that we protect our health and that of others.
