It's funny that #RoyalHolloway placed such an emphasis on the protection of minority/black/POC students, considering it is a predominantly white university, during the height of the #BLM movement. But now when they are being held to their claims, they think they can appease us
with blanket statements like "racism has no place at Royal Holloway" and "we strongly condemn all forms of racism". Where is the evidence? In that one week of June when they spoke about the importance of protecting POC students, only for them to never address this again?
As a POC student at the university, I never felt seen. Seeing how increasingly diverse the uni is becoming with every year and knowing I'll be leaving Royal Holloway makes me feel sick and worried for new minority students who are susceptible to racial attacks like this
only to be ignored or undermined by the university if they are brave enough to report it. @RoyalHolloway Do better. And not just this time where you are being held under fire, but every single time there is racism or discrimination on your campus.
