There were serious differences of opinion between the investigation team and supervisory officers within the CBI over chargesheet that was filed by the agency on Friday in the #Hathras gangrape and murder case, sources said
In the opinion of the members of the Investigation team they had strong evidence against only one accused - Sandeep - who was the first accused to be arrested in the case, and therefore the investigation team wanted to chargesheet him only.
The law officers roped in the case to assist the investigation team to prepare a strong chargesheet too concurred initially with the investigating officers on the issue but supervisory officers had a different opinion on the matter
Supervisory officers wanted to chargesheet all four accused named by the girl in her statements before she died.
