Since Election Twitter is finally dying down. Let me remind all the NJ Folks why 2021 elections are so important in NJ. While most liberals and progressives love @GovMurphy let me tell y’all why it’s so important to vote out the current NJ State Legislature.
While the required age to be in the State House is 22 and to be in the State Senate is 30. The average age of NJ State Senator is approximately 64 years old. This means 77.5% of the State Senate was born BEFORE 1964. For reference 1964 was when Jim Crow Era ended.
While 51% of our State’s Population is womxn they only make 33% of Assembly and 25% of State Senate Population.
Here is more on our legislature. Eye opening research by @Eagleton_RU https://cypp.rutgers.edu/new-jersey/
SO IF YOU ARE YOUNG, ENERGETIC, PASSIONATE AND DONT OWE YOUR POLITICAL CAREER TO A PARTY BOSS. REGISTER YOUR COMMITTEE AND RUN FOR STATE ASSEMBLY/State Senate.
