Seeing a lot of friends feeling rejected about not getting the writing job at BBC Studios. The reality is, although it’s not nice to get a no, writing topical comedy every day isn’t that easy, and this year has been really, REALLY tough on my mental health.
A lot of the most fun and joyful things I did were outside of Studios, and YOU can do them too! Are you collaborating with friends and fellow creators? Reaching out to indie producers? The more I do, the more I realise that you still basically have to DIY forever. Keep going!!!
I am so so SO grateful for what this year gave me, but it isn’t the be all and end all. You are funny and unique and you will find your people and your place. Stay positive. Work hard. One corporate recruitment process is no judge of your current value or your future success.

(Also just to be clear I am no part of the recruitment process and I have no idea who is getting it or who didn’t, or who even applied!)
