Modern take on the Veisemasema style
The last category of the Fijian Vale was nearly lost to time.

The Bure Rausina is one found mostly in the Colo areas of Fiji. The western hinterlands who last defied the Colonial Mandate was where the Conical Roofed structure was called Were
Well known for the Bou or Central Pillar around which the structure was said to be supported.

Although this style linked us to our Melanin Rich counterparts, it nearly didn't survive colonialism thanks to its synonimity with the Colo Uprising and also similarity to many a Bure Kalou.
Is there a point to all this?

Other then enlightenment on how the ancestors lived (not under a bush) this shows that there were structures used by the them hundreds of year before the British came. Rather than look to the West to find solutions, we need only look within
We could use the ancestral ideas to see to more sustainable housing.

Although the West has brought us "Progress", homegrown ideas are far more sustainable, don't you think?
