Parly offers its members many platforms to speak on diverse issues. An MP can rise on the floor to table a petition, raise a matter of national importance, ask a question & provide information on a pertinent matter. But they have remained mute on land baron's evil acts. @matigary https://twitter.com/CadresPf/status/1340181947155419139
Despite all these platforms available for MPs, legislators have not uttered a single word in the August House against land barons. But when it comes to their own welfare the mute brigade, they blur all party lines because the condition afflicts legislators from both parties.
MPs are responsible for the prejudicing of the state of over US$3 billion in urban state land. This could have been stopped by enacting a tough legislation to deal with land barons. On the other hand the same sitting MPs have used land as a way of mobilizing political support.
@ParliamentZim did you know land barons have parcelled out more than 115 000 hectares of state to desperate home seekers? This criminal activity is a matter of national security, as it has impacted negatively to the citizens' welfare, with women and children affected the most.
If MPs are indeed representative of the electorate why are they failing to deal with this evil? Are they not in touch with the people on the ground? It's time to nip in the bud the victimization of people seeking land to build their homes. If not it's as good as having no parly.
