From Ekos research: Vaccine hesitancy has a reason and a cause, mostly disinformation spread via Facebook, and the resulting closed information bubbles. https://twitter.com/VoiceOfFranky/status/1340143905514381312
Not surprisingly, disinformation effect is strongest in Alberta, and the weakest in Atlantic Canada, an effect we see on pandemic management as well: https://twitter.com/VoiceOfFranky/status/1340143780536717314?s=20
Ekos created a 'Disinformation Index' to make their assessments, composed of a person's beliefs in a number of obviously false narratives about the pandemic: https://twitter.com/VoiceOfFranky/status/1340143325639270400?s=20

Some possible solutions

- Regulating Facebook (by far the primary driver here)

- No reason that real news sources such as CBC, CTV, Postmedia can't be given more prominence in newsfeeds.

- Strengthening and ensuring the survival of public and private media organizations
From an immediate point of view, we won't convince hardcore anti-vaxxers, but for those that are concerned about the rapidity in which these vaccines were developed, we can reassure by emphasizing that:

1) mRNA technology is new but has been in development for decades
2) Vaccine trials involve 10s of thousands, and so far, very very few have had adverse effects

3) Health care providers are getting them soon, providing a large pool to study immediate and medium term effects

4) Covid is nasty, and no vaccine is as bad as the virus itself
